Haveri consists of seven taluks, 19 hoblies and 208 gram panchayaths. Haveri district is exactly in the center of Karnataka with equal distance from Bidar In the far north to Kollegal in the far south. About 1300 stone writings of different rulers like Chalukyas, Rastrakutas are found in the district. Haveri is famous for its cardamom garlands. It is the hometown of one of the greatest poets, Kanaka Dasa.
